What is a vector file?
Vector file or vector image is created by Mathematical formula to setting up points on the grid. Grid and points of image can resizable infinite because points can move on according to a Mathematical formula without blurr or break.
Smartphones and cameras don’t take a vector image. Instead of, it takes a raster image and using a thousands or millions pixel to build an image. Therefore, if you try to drag a photo into a large size, it will blur and lose quality. You can divide image to small sizes without losing quality because pixels are compressible.

What is a vector file extension?

Is PDF a vector file format?
You can totally use PDF as a Vector file format cause depending on the initial file creation process, the PDF can also act as a raster file.

If using a format base on raster, everytime you try to resize logo, your products will be blurred or broken.
Meanwhile, if you use vector image for your logo, you can resize image up or down without losing quality.
